SALEM SPEEDWAY OPEN TEST DATES SET

SALEM, IN, January 30 - Salem Speedway will be hosting two days of pre-season testing in 2012. The first day is exclusively for the quarter-mile infield oval and will take place on Saturday, March 24th.  The second test day is set for Saturday, April 7th and is for cars competing on the half-mile high banks only. Testing is open to Salem divisions and cars from traveling divisions scheduled to compete at Salem in 2012.  Times will be announced later.

SALEM, IN, December 29 – O’Reilly Auto Parts has signed on as title sponsor of the Salem Speedway Pure Stock division for the 2012 season reports track management.

SALEM, IN, Dec. 28 – Salem Speedway track management announced today that Lucas Oil will serve as title sponsor of the Salem Speedway Great American Stock division for the 2012 season.

2012 SALEM SPEEDWAY ARCA

RACING SERIES DATES RELEASED

SALEM, IN, Nov. 18 – The ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards is set to return to Salem Speedway in 2012 with its traditional spring and fall dates reports track management.

The Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA 200 will take place on Sunday, April 29th and the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA Fall Classic is set for Saturday, September 15th.

“We are honored to once again have Salem Speedway represented with two dates on the ARCA Racing Series schedule,” said track general manager Richard Deaton.  “ARCA has played a very prominent roll in the storied history of the famed high banks and we are excited to carry on that tradition in 2012.”

The Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA 200 will mark the 91st appearance of the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards at Salem since 1955.  No track has appeared more on the series schedule through the years than Salem.

A couple of Texans, Brennan Poole and Chris Buescher, pulled off surprising wins at Salem in 2011.  Poole, in his very first ARCA Racing Series start, won the spring race and Buescher was victorious in the fall.

CHANGES MADE IN HALLOWEEN 200 STANDINGS

After reviewing all scoring data from Sunday’s Smoker Friendly Discount Tobacco Halloween 200 changes have been made in the race finishing order reports track officials.  Mike Royal, who was originally credited with 198 laps completed, dropped from 11th to 15th place in the final standings and is credited with 188 laps completed.  Chris Workman (11th), Timmy Burch (12th), David Bayens (13th) and John Heck (14th) all moved up one place in the standings.

SALEM, IN, October 4 – Todd Kempf, David Bayens, Mike Kestler and Bill Grant walked away from Sunday’s Scott County Visitors Commission Season Championship Classic at Salem Speedway with season titles in tow.  Kempf of Huntingburg, Ind., captured the Lucas Oil Super Stock championship, while Bayens of Memphis, Ind., claimed the Dave & Deb’s Winner’s Circle Great American Stock title.  Kestler of Louisville won the inaugural Global Assembly Pure Stock championship and Grant captured the track’s first Six Sigma Front Wheel Drive Stock title.  Complete Story

(SALEM, Ind.) - After zero wins in the first 15 races of the 2011 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards season, Chris Buescher has doubled his career victory total in just the last 13 days.

Buescher (No. 17 Jasper Engines & Transmissions/Reliance Tool/David Ragan Ford Ford) led 104 of 200 laps, including the last 37, to win the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA Fall Classic presented by Federated Car Care at Salem Speedway.
